One summer, a wandering cricket finds an old violin in the woods. “How convenient!”, she exclaims and promptly uses the spacious instrument as her new home. At nighttime, she plays the violin’s strings with her arms and legs which delights all small animals around, even the moths in the pumpkin-bar. As the year comes to an end however, a bitter-cold winter begins that will put the cricket’s music and the solidarity of the wood-dwellers to a hard test.

Anna Haifisch’s first picture book for children enchants readers with its charming critters and lovingly quirky humor. As a tongue-in-cheek reference to classic fables, Anna Haifisch tells a story about the appreciation for art and the importance of solidarity in difficult times, again proving her talent as an exceptional artist and storyteller.
