MICHEL ESSELBRÜGGE

was born in Bielefeld in 1990 and studied Visual Communication at the Kunsthochschule Kassel. He is co-founder of the Institute for Contemporary Cartooning and part of the cartoonist collective FanArt. His comics have been published in international anthologies such as Orang, Kuti Kuti, kuš! and Samandal as well as on vice.com. „Langfinger & Wackelzahn“ is his first full-length publication.

Christine Färber

Christine Färber was born in 1978 and grew up in a small town next to the forest in Upper Franconia. After studying German in Leipzig, she stayed in the big city and has been working here as a journalist and freelance writer ever since. In 2017 she published her first book “Alles auf Jetzt” together with Simone Unger at Christoph Links Verlag. She enjoys to run through the forest and across meadows.
 
 

Markus Färber

Markus Färber was born in 1981 in the Franconian Forest. He studied Art Education in Würzburg and later Visual Communication with a focus on illustration in Kassel and Halle. His first book “Reprobus” was published by Rotopol in 2012. Now he lives in Leipzig and works from there as an illustrator and comic artist for a wide variety of agencies and clients. As part of the “Busy Hands” poster collective, he designs concert posters and makes music under the pseudonym “Holob”.

MATTHEW FORSYTHE

is an award-winning author, comic artist and illustrator. His illustrations can be found in works by renowned authors, including Kirsten Hall and Lemony Snicket, and have appeared in numerous publications, including the New York Times and the Wall Street Journal. His first comic “Ojingogo” (2008, Drawn & Quarterly) was nominated for an Eisner Award and won the Doug Wight Award for Best Experimental Comic. The former lead designer of the animated series “Adventure Time” (Cartoon Network) and designer of the Oscar-nominated stop-motion Christmas film “Robin Robin” (Netflix) now lives in Montreal, Canada.

Kirsten Carina Geisser

born in the beautiful Franconian forest in 1986. Since 2006 she has been studying painting and graphic arts at the Burg Giebichenstein University of Art and Design in Halle (Saale). She is drawing and writing stories – often in co-operation with her sister Ines Christine. Together they are KIIN.

Ines Christine was born in the beautiful Franconian forest in 1982. Since 2006 she has been studying illustraion, comic and animation at the School of Art and Design Kassel. Together with her sister Kirsten Carina she is Kiin.

Anna Haifisch

AnnaHaifisch©JayGardwas born in 1986 in Leipzig, where she studied Illustration at the Academy of Visual Arts. In just a few years, she has become one of the most important figures of a young generation of independent comic artists around the world. Her unique style and disturbingly honest stories have won over a wide audience and her books, which have been translated into several languages, have become true classics in Europe and also in North America. Anna Haifisch was awarded the Max and Moritz Award in the category “Best German-speaking Comic Artist” by the Erlangen International Comic Salon in 2020.

Lea Heinrich

At the age of five, Lea Heinrich won fifty bucks worth of cake in a drawing contest at a local bakery. With her friends she spent it all in one day. Later she studied at the School of Art and Design in Kassel where she specialized in illustration and graphic storytelling. Since her graduation in 2012 she works as a freelance illustrator and cartoonist in Berlin and Brooklyn and still enjoys cake.

Icinori

is a duo consisting of Mayumi Otero and Raphael Urwiller. Together, they work as authors, artists and publishers and are engaged in various projects that encompass illustration, graphic design, exhibitions, publishing and teaching. They have published multiple art and children’s books together that have received the Honorary Mention of the Bologna Ragazzi Award and the Prix Libbylit Bruxelles award. Their clients include Le Monde, New York Times, Canal + and Wired. Icinori work and live in Orleans (France).
