Pepastars are flexible construction pieces made of recycled paper which can revolve freely around their joints. The four different star-elements can be sticked together quickly to shape threedimensional objects. While children experiment with all kinds of creative techniques such as folding, glueing, cutting or painting the masterpiece transforms itself constantly.

The interpretation of the outcoming forms stimulates new ideas and provides moments of surprise. Young paper engineers turn the Pepastars into fantasy sculptures, lively creatures and unique costumes, ready to be used in a role playing game. Pepastars are made in Germany from 100% recycled paper and they’re available in 10 different colors.

Raum kommt von räumen is a booklet, which becomes a new form, by every food and turn, inviting the viewer onto his own path through this picture world. The drawings are creating a web of images, which are lacking a definite starting or ending point on the foldable space. The many drawings can be rearranged again and again in manifold combinations. Every move of hand and mind rearranges the way in which spaces surface, and relations in-between figures happen.

This time we have something for all bliny, borscht and balalaika lovers. You may already guess, it must be something about Russia. More precisely it’s about the people who live there: RUSSIANS. For this topic we invited nearly 40 illustrators from 8 different countries, to give free rein to their cliché, their admiration, their fears, their knowledge or any other emotion about these people. Let’s be honest, we’re talking about Russia a lot but do we really know enough about the people who live there? Maybe this show motivates us to learn more about this interesting culture.

Meaty Melody was the very first solo show of French all-rounder Matthieu Bessudo aka mcbess. The London based illustrator is not only in the bloom of his youth, he is also an excellent 3D animator, can play several musical instruments like a youthful god and his wonderful style conquered our hearts. But his work doesn’t look like a crude imitation of golden age cartoons, he is sampling their style and manages it to transform it to his very own world.
Matthieu Bessudo came directly from London and was present at the vernissage.
The exhibition can be seen from Mai 3, 2008 till June 26, 2008 from Monday to Saturday from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm.
