Recently the term of post-democracy appeared in media more and more often. Some political scientists and sociologists are of the opinion that, with the beginning of the 21st century, we entered a post democratic era. Therefore we like to highlight this hypothesis with a whole series of group shows. The topic of each group show, represents one aspect of the so-called post-democratic progress.

The topic for the first group show is Secret Service, and 40 artist from 8 different countries participated in that show.

To promote his new album B.U.R.M.A. (that has nothing to do with the country of the same name) Swedish singer/songwriter Björn Kleinhenz plays a gig at rotopol on Monday September 28, 2009 at 8.00 pm.
The young man was born in the lovely city of Stuttgart but several years later he and his family moved to the even more lovely country of Sweden. Since 2002 Björn releases his albums on CD, MP3 or even cassette. Since his album Quietly Happy And Deep Inside Björn Kleinhenz he is not only in Sweden a well known artist. His music is far more than rough, minimalistic songwriting and gets commendatory feedback from notable colleagues such as Kristofer Åström. To cut a long story short: it will be a great evening with great music and a charming protagonist. So cancel all other events you’ve planed, cause they’re lame, come to rotopol on Montag September 28 2009 at 8.00 pm, do not pay any entrance fee and listen to beautiful. Of course we will have beer as well! For thist event we also produced a limited edition of screenprints for his album Head Held High On Fearsome Pride. The CD plus the screenprint are available in our shop.

Raum kommt von räumen is a booklet, which becomes a new form, by every food and turn, inviting the viewer onto his own path through this picture world. The drawings are creating a web of images, which are lacking a definite starting or ending point on the foldable space. The many drawings can be rearranged again and again in manifold combinations. Every move of hand and mind rearranges the way in which spaces surface, and relations in-between figures happen.
