KIIN. TO GO You always wanted to know who the authors of the KIIN.zine Ines and Kirsten are and how they look like? So you should get your hands on the new KIIN. #11. The first KIIN. without drawings but with lots of photographs of the Franconian sisters. And with stickers!
A group of cosmic entities get together in vast space for a scientific workshop. Their initially low-brow experiments with textures and matter take form by and by. Finally the most sensitive one in the group, Ablavar, made a major invention: He creates earth and all animals living on it. For that he’s admired by all his class mates. Except Zantek. He sabotages Ablavar’s genesis and creates mankind in return. For these “Hu-mans” life on the new planet is no walk in the park, but they learn to stand their ground very quickly. Soon they not only fought their way up to the top of the food chain but also took the recreation of their world in their own hands.
“A rather cusrious level of detail
considering the limited
dimensional representation …”
In his genesis Jesse Jacobs tells the story of spacy divine visions and earthly struggles for life with extraordinary artistic skill. By This Shall You Know Him teames classic comic book storytelling with outstanding illustration art. The result is a complex visual cosmos full of bizarre characters and hypnotic shapes.
(This extract shows a selection of pages from the book.)
By This Shall You Know Him was originally published in Canada by the fantastic Koyama Press.

She’s a nordic girl and loves shells, so she wants to eat “Shell Girl”. “Xenovisionary” attacks her to save her husband – but there comes “Broil Prophet” to protect her beloved “Girlemperor”. She’s attacking “Xenovisionary”. “Shell Girl” wants to help but “Broil Prophet” just laughes at him and shows him her power. “Shell Girl” dies. “Girlemperor” wants to die as well, but “Broil Prohpet” is looking after her. “Xenovisionary” turns into “Flambéed Xenovisionary” and swears horrible revenge. Since that moment, “Girlemperor” wasn’t seen again.

2012 is a year full of cataclysmic events. Some of them are actually quite disastrous: our bunny beheaded our guinea pig, the good old economic crisis is still there, the awesome pink patent leather shoes are not available in my size anymore, the European countries go bust one after another, again the damn coffee is out and nobody said a word, Moebius, Maurice Sendak and democracy are dead, while bending down the pants ripped and everyone saw it, the middle east is burning, in some laboratory some mutated virus broke out and caused a zombie invasion etc. … oh right, and as everyone knows, in 2012 the world will go down with all hands! Together with you we want to examine that and have a look at all the small and big disasters that make us thoughtful or laugh.

The lobster’s never scared because
in front he has two giant claws.
Pepastars are flexible construction pieces made of recycled paper which can revolve freely around their joints. The four different star-elements can be sticked together quickly to shape threedimensional objects. While children experiment with all kinds of creative techniques such as folding, glueing, cutting or painting the masterpiece transforms itself constantly.
The interpretation of the outcoming forms stimulates new ideas and provides moments of surprise. Young paper engineers turn the Pepastars into fantasy sculptures, lively creatures and unique costumes, ready to be used in a role playing game. Pepastars are made in Germany from 100% recycled paper and they’re available in 10 different colors.
