Michael Meier was born in the Harz mountains in Germany. He studied illustration, graphic design and new media at the School of Art and Design Kassel. In 2007 he passed these studies with distinction and was also student in the master class of Hendrik Dorgathen from 2007 to 2008.

For his debut comic book Die Menschenfabrik he won the Sondermann award as best newcomer at the International Frankfurt Bookfair in 2009. His second comic publication Das Inferno was released in 2012. As a freelance illustrator and comic artist Michael Meier has worked for clients like Ehapa, Image, Frankfurter Rundschau, Le Monde Diplomatique, GQ and Men‘s Health and he is next to Rita Fürstenau and Lisa Röper co-founder of Rotopolpress.
