Rock On Rotopol

Unexpected presents are always the best: Our buddy Simon Häußle from Vienna made us this awesome illustration for our 4th anniversary. We’re proud as Punch and we’re happy as a sugarholic trapped in a candy store. SIMON YOU ROCK!

P.S.:For all Non-Kasselarians: Kassel has the biggest racoon population in Europe. Something like that.

Happy Birthday Rotopol

On May 11, 2011 Rotopol celebrates its fourth birthday. An excellent reason to eat even more cake as we already do. But because we like sharing cake more than eating it ourselves we like to invite you to stop by at Rotopol on Wednesday May 11, 2011 till 6.00 pm to grab some cups of coffee and to join our annual “blankless” tombola.

No.9! Take over!!!

No.9! Take over!!! – that is the topic for our upcoming exhibition, on May 13, 2011. We’re really happy to show a big selection of original pieces by Nic Klein and to present them in his first solo show. The Kassel based illustrator made his mark in the international comic and entertainment industry because of his individual style.  It’s no surprise that he is hired by major companies like Marvel, DC Comics, Image Comics, Wizards of The Coast, Panini, Top Cow, Simon & Schuster, Microsoft games, Egmont Ehapa and many more. Since we started Rotopolpress back in 2007 Nic Klein is closely connected with the Rotopol family. He is also co-editor of our mini-comic-anthology DOLOR. Reasons enough to dedicate an exhibition to him. We like to invite you to:

Opening

Friday, May 13, 2011 at 9.00 pm

at Rotopol

Friedrich-Ebert-Str. 95 in Kassel

Nic Klein is a true master in combining digital and traditional painting techniques and he added his own style to covers for various comic series like Superman, New Warriors or Star Lord.

American author Ivan Brandon teamed up with Nic Klein for the comic saga Viking – The Long Cold Fire that was widely acclaimed by critics as a “Crime book for the 9th century”. Lately Brandon and Klein worked together with Brian Azzarello to breathe new life into DC-veteran Doc Savage.

So if you don’t want to miss to throw a glance at Nic Klein’s work, you should drop in at Rotopol on May 13 at 9.00 pm. Nic Klein will be present at the opening and if you might be a proud owner of one or two of his comics, he will certainly sign them for you. The exhibition can be seen from May 13 until July 01, 2011. The gallery will be open from Monday to Saturday from 10.00 am to 1.30 pm and from 2.30 to 6.00 pm. Admission free as usual! We’re looking forward to your visit.
